Ubisoft was listing off franchises to expect in the fisicial year of 2010 and one of the titles on the list was “a new episode of Assassin’s Creed, which will be the first in the series to have an online multiplayer mode.”
This stand alone title will feature Assassin’s Creed II’s protagonist Ezio. Other then that and the online multiplayer feature, the title remains under wraps for now.
