Wired interviewed Cammie Dunaway, executive vice-president of Nintendo of America, and spoke about the software being released this year. Wired brought up the subject of Zelda Wii, and while she didn’t 100% confirms a release, it seems she hinted strongly at it.

“Wired.com: I think people were really interested to know, are they going to release Mario and Metroid and Zelda all in one year?

Dunaway: And you said we wouldn’t. You bet no, right?

Wired.com: I bet no. Are you going to hold me to that? Do I owe you a steak dinner?

Dunaway: I think you do.”

Wired also brought up the topic of titles being published by Nintendo in Japan but have yet to see any sign of plans for localization including The Last Story and Xenoblade. It’s too early to say whether we’re going to bring those here; we just found out about them when Mr. Iwata announced them at the conference (in Japan).

Zangeki no Reginleiv was also brought up, but it was unclear if she was talking about this title as well considering it has been announced for some time.

Mmm, steak and Zelda together, can’t really beat that, now can you?

I really hope this actually means that Zelda Wii 2 gets released in 2010, that way we can have all the great and currently active Nintendo series released together, like some great combo. Nintendo fans rejoice!

It’s a possibility, Nintendo normally release a first party game before Christmas. With Metroid and Mario out the way for the Summer…
